In Colombia's southern Nariño province, farmers of biofortified crops are selling their produce directly to consumers through "biotiendas". The absence of middlemen means consumers can go into these farmer-owned shops and buy food that is nutritious and freshly delivered.  And, it means farmers receive quick, direct payments to invest in their farms and families. Watch the video below featuring a "biotienda" in Samaniego where biofortified iron beans are among the fresh foods on sale.
